May 5, 2018 --- Important Announcement for Family & Friends of our USA Elders
We regret to inform you that because of increased border security
the Mexico Area Presidency has directed us to
discontinue our Laredo Mail Pickup effectively immediately.
*However, we will pick up packages and mail on May 22,
for those of you who have already sent packages and letters.
President and I have enjoyed our outing to Laredo to pick up packages for your missionaries, however the past several times that we have
crossed the border it has been increasingly more difficult.
The last crossing the border security opened almost all of the 75 packages
we were bringing across. They told us that President and I would
each have to pay $300 to bring the merchandise into Mexico.
They later backed down (luckily for us because we didn't have $600)
but they did take photos of the packages, our car and our license plate.
They informed us we wouldn't be able to bring packages across again without opening each one and declaring the value of all the merchandise.
We are very sorry that we won't be able to provide this service for you and your missionaries anymore, but we agree with the Area Presidents decision.
**You can send packages and mail to the mission office:
Misión Monterrey Oeste Office
(Missionary's name)
Calle Concha Espino #303
Col. Roma Sur 64700
Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico
**Or I know that there are companies that will also send packages to Mexico for you.
If any one knows the names of these companies would you please let me know
and I will post them here on the blog!
Thank you for your understanding!
We love you and we love your Missionaries!!!!!

May 7, 2018 --- Alternate information on Mailing Packages to Mexico
I received this information from "Estafeta in Utah". I have not had any experience with this company but it might be an option:
Hello!
My name is Roberto Monsalvo and I’m the supervisor of the offices of Estafeta in Utah. Our friends from the church administration passed us your information to let you know about our shipping services here in the United States.
The purpose of this message is to inform you about our shipping services that we offer to all parents with sons and daughters serving in Mexico.
I would like to add that we will have a special discount for the parents of these missionaries in their next shipping.
I hope we will be able to work with you in order to help the missionaries to get their packages in a effective way.
I’ll leave my information below for any question.
Roberto Monsalvo
Estafeta Utah (Sandy)
9653 S 700 E
Sandy, UT 84070
Tel: 385-557-2995 or 801-663-9656
PS. We will be opening a new location in Provo next week. We will post the information in our Facebook page: "Estafeta Utah", so parents can see it.
**More information from Janet Davis on Estafeta in Utah: "So I found out more information on the package carrier that you posted on the blog. (Estafeta Utah) It actually sounds like the best as we would not have to pay a additional fee to send it to the shipping place. They actually have a warehouse in Laredo, Texas".
Please see below our rates shipping from any part of United States to any part to Mexico. These Prices are for specific boxes, max weight is 150 pounds. If you have any other size please call us to give you the rate.
This prices is considering you will drop it to one of the UPS office and you will paste the shipping labels on the box. If you decide to not leave the box in a UPS store we can send a truck to pick it up, but a $20 will be charge additionally.
You pay the price for the box size in the picture it already includes the cost for UPS. You only pay us and we will send all the labels and you don't have to pay anything else
Boxes can weight up to 150 lbs. each, as long do not has tools or heavy equipment. If it is normal stuff such as clothes, treats, no perishable food, shoes etc you are allowed to sent it.
Of course remember that the missionaries need to carry the package back to their homes so I would really watch the size and weight of the box.
The time frame takes from CA to Monterrey is between 7 to 15 business. We have an Express services cost %20 more and takes between 6 to 10 business days.
The boxes you can buy online, in UPS and Walmart. Remember, if you get any other size you can ship as well, just will have to give us the measurements and weight to obtain the price quote.
Feel free to contact us for any question. We will happy to answer anything.

So this is what I have found out about the company above. He receives the packages in Del Rio Texas and sends them to the Mission office} sends them by parcel every day and it takes 2 days to arrive. You can send it any day. Yes, he will also give the service to buy things in Walmart USA and send them to your missionary
The purchase service does not have a cost, only the $35 of the shipment & of course the cost of buying the items. He sends it to a Parcel company of Mexico, (Estafeta, DHL Mexico, Fedex Mexico). Yes, he said he uses the safest companies. as the shipment is Mexico-Mexico, it is safer and you avoid the risk of loss or theft that is in the shipments USA-Mexico. I am here to help you, his name is Alberto Mahonry Alvarez Decena. He is a member and ex-missionary. He said he has a calling and a recommendation from the Temple. The famlies send him the payment in cash in an envelope to Alberto Alvarez inside the package. So once they get it from you it takes 2-3 days to get to the mission home... Charged $35.00
Each package we are charged $35.00. I asked How do you know that when you mail it off it will get to the mission home with nothing being opened or nothing missing? There is always that risk, to reduce this risk I look for the most reliable package companies. Of all the packages I have sent I have not had this problem.
Another option is to deliver them personally, but we would have to wait to have several packages to go every 15 days. Sorry its long but wanted to let you all know what I found out.
